Day 1 — South Bali: Uluwatu & Kecak Fire Dance

  1. The rocky cove of Padang Padang Beach

Photo by Anton Rymarev on Unsplash

    9:00am (1 hr)

    Padang Padang Beach

A small, scenic cove beach near Uluwatu — a good low-key morning stop before the temple. Arrive early; the beach is compact and gets crowded by late morning.

  2. Uluwatu Temple perched on a clifftop above the ocean

Photo by Dmitry Voronov on Unsplash

    10:30am (1 hr) Must visit

    Uluwatu Temple (daytime visit)

Walk the clifftop temple grounds in daylight for the dramatic ocean views — hold onto hats and sunglasses, the resident monkeys are opportunistic. You will return for the evening Kecak performance.

  3. 12:00pm

    Lunch near Uluwatu

Single Fin or Ulu Cliffhouse for a casual clifftop lunch with surf views over the Bukit peninsula.

  4. Uluwatu Temple perched on a clifftop above the ocean

Photo by Dmitry Voronov on Unsplash

    5:30pm (1.5 hrs) Must visit

    Kecak Fire Dance at Uluwatu

Book seats in advance — walk-up tickets sell out on weekends. The torch-lit, chant-driven performance set against the clifftop sunset is genuinely one of Bali's standout cultural experiences.

  5. 7:30pm

    Dinner

Several clifftop restaurants near the temple serve dinner right after the performance lets out — book ahead on weekends.

Day 2 — Seminyak Beach & Sunset Strip

  1. Seminyak Beach at sunset

Photo by Hyukjoon Sohn on Unsplash

    9:00am–1:00pm

    Seminyak Beach morning

A relaxed beach morning — Seminyak is calmer and cleaner than Kuta and a short walk from cafés and boutiques.

  2. 1:00pm

    Lunch in Seminyak

Casual café options line Jalan Kayu Aya (Eat Street) — good range of price points.

  3. 2:00pm–4:30pm

    Afternoon rest

The midday heat isn't worth pushing through — hotel pool or a spa treatment is the better use of this window.

  4. 5:30pm (1.5 hrs)

Sunset at a Seminyak beach club

Ku De Ta or La Plancha for a relaxed sunset without the Potato Head crowds — both allow walk-ins for a drink and beach loungers.

  5. 7:30pm

    Dinner in Seminyak

Wide range from casual warungs to upscale — pick based on budget; the strip along Jalan Laksmana has options at every price point.

Day 3 — Ubud Day Trip: Rice Terraces, Temple & Monkey Forest

  1. 7:00am

    Depart south Bali for Ubud

Leave early — the drive is 1.5–2 hours, and getting to Tegallalang before the 9:30am tour bus rush is the whole point of an early start.

  2. Green rice terraces at Tegallalang, Ubud

Photo by Niklas Weiss on Unsplash

    9:00am (1 hr) Must visit

    Tegallalang Rice Terraces

Walk the terrace paths while it's still relatively quiet. A small donation to the farmers maintaining the paths is customary.

  3. A macaque at Ubud Monkey Forest

Photo by Cassie Gallegos on Unsplash

    10:30am (1 hr) Must visit

    Ubud Monkey Forest

Fun and photogenic — keep loose items zipped away from the macaques. About an hour is enough to see the whole loop.

  4. 12:00pm (1 hr)

    Lunch in central Ubud

Warung Babi Guling Ibu Oka for Bali's famous roast suckling pig, or Clear Café for a lighter, health-focused option.

  5. Pilgrims at the purification pools of Tirta Empul Water Temple

Photo by Ismail Hamzah on Unsplash

    1:30pm (1 hr) Must visit

    Tirta Empul Water Temple

Rent a sarong at the entrance. Move quietly and dress modestly — this is a working temple, not a tourist attraction built for photos.

  6. 7:30pm

    Dinner back in south Bali

A full day — keep dinner simple and close to your hotel after the long drive back.

Day 4 — Canggu Morning & Departure

  1. A café hut beside rice fields in Canggu

Photo by Darcey Beau on Unsplash

    9:00am (2 hrs)

    Canggu beach & café walk

Batu Bolong Beach and the surrounding café strip give a different side of Bali from the temples and beach clubs — a relaxed final morning.

  2. 12:00pm onward

    Departure prep

Allow 45–60 minutes to Ngurah Rai International Airport from south Bali, more during evening peak traffic.
