Day 1 — Arrival & Settling In

  1. 2:00pm

    Arrive Ubud, check in

The drive from the airport is 1.5–2 hours — book an airport transfer in advance rather than arranging one on arrival. Spend the rest of the day settling in with no fixed plans.

  2. 6:30pm

Evening walk & dinner, central Ubud

A relaxed first walk through central Ubud's main streets to get oriented, followed by dinner at any of the warungs near the market.

Day 2 — Tegallalang & Tirta Empul

  1. Green rice terraces at Tegallalang, Ubud

Photo by Niklas Weiss on Unsplash

    7:30am (1.5 hrs) Must visit

    Tegallalang Rice Terraces

Go early to beat the tour buses. Since you have a full week, there's no need to rush the walk — take the full loop at a slow pace.

  2. Pilgrims at the purification pools of Tirta Empul Water Temple

Photo by Ismail Hamzah on Unsplash

    9:30am (1 hr) Must visit

    Tirta Empul Water Temple

Rent a sarong at the entrance and take part in the purification ritual if you wish, or observe respectfully from the side.

  3. 1:00pm onward

    Free afternoon

No fixed plan — read by the pool, walk without a destination, or simply rest. This is the point of a slow-travel itinerary.

Day 3 — Cooking Class & Ubud Palace

  1. A Balinese cooking class preparing dishes together

Photo by Nita Payne on Unsplash

    9:00am (3 hrs)

Ubud cooking class (market visit included)

Casa Luna's cooking class starts with a guided walk through Ubud's traditional market before the hands-on cooking session — a genuinely immersive half-day.

  2. The gate of Puri Saren Palace, Ubud

Photo by weyfoto loh on Unsplash

    3:00pm (1 hr)

    Puri Saren Palace

Free to walk through outside performance hours — a quiet look at Ubud's royal architecture.

Day 4 — Healer Visit & Wellness

  1. 10:00am (1.5 hrs)

Traditional healer session (booked in advance)

Ubud has a long tradition of traditional healers (balian) offering everything from massage to spiritual consultation — book through your accommodation for a reputable recommendation rather than walking in cold.

  2. 4:00pm (1.5 hrs)

    Yoga class

Yoga Barn or Radiantly Alive both run drop-in classes suited to all levels — a good way to spend a slow late afternoon.

Day 5 — Waterfall Hike

  1. Visitors at a Bali waterfall

Photo by Shravan Yelburgi on Unsplash

8:00am (3 hrs, including 1 hr drive each way)

    Tegenungan or Tibumana Waterfall

Tegenungan is closer and easier (short walk from parking); Tibumana requires a bit more of a hike but is quieter. Either works well as a half-day out — bring water shoes if you plan to swim.

  2. 12:00pm onward

    Free afternoon

Rest after the hike, or explore Ubud's art galleries at an easy pace.

Day 6 — Alassari Plantation & Countryside

  1. Hand-picking coffee cherries on a plantation tour

Photo by Shelby Murphy Figueroa on Unsplash

    9:00am (3 hrs, including drive)

Alas Harum or a coffee/cacao plantation tour

A guided walk through a working plantation covering coffee and cacao processing, including kopi luwak if you're curious about it (optional — it's a divisive product due to animal welfare concerns around wild-caught civets; ask about the farm's sourcing before ordering).

  2. 2:00pm onward

    Free afternoon

A final relaxed afternoon — good time for a last spa treatment or unhurried shopping at Ubud Art Market.

Day 7 — Campuhan Ridge & Departure

  1. The grassy ridge path of the Campuhan Ridge Walk, Ubud

Photo by Declan Young on Unsplash

    7:00am (1 hr) Can visit

    Campuhan Ridge Walk

An early, quiet walk along the ridge as a final morning in Ubud — the light is best shortly after sunrise.

  2. 11:00am onward

    Departure prep

Allow 1.5–2 hours from Ubud to Ngurah Rai International Airport — build in extra buffer given Ubud's distance from the airport.
